Pine Mountain Club General Information

Photography and Music by Chris Kemphert

Pine Mountain Club is a planned recreational community created by Tenneco Corporation in the early 1970's. It is a scenic private community located in a beautiful wooded mountain valley with tall pine trees and magnificent views. P.M.C. is privately owned by the property owners and is virtually surrounded by the Los Padres National Forest. Our community is composed of 3200 acres with approximately 3,000 buildable lots and some 2200 acres set aside permanently as open space for the exclusive enjoyment of property owners and their guests. Approximately 2200 homes have been built giving us a fulltime population of around 2000.

Many property owners use their homes as weekend get-aways while an increasing number of families are finding living here fulltime to be their preference. Many folks commute daily to work in Bakersfield, Santa Clarita and Los Angeles. Pine Mountain Club is not a tourist area but a four season recreational community where natural beauty and splendor make it an attractive place to live or visit. Even on weekends the population increases by only about 20%.
